Jayne Drabble

I can't sleep, so here's a drabble.

Title:
Arms
Spoilers: post-BDM
Author: Aurey09
Rating: PG13
Character: Jayne
Word count: 100
Number: 4/100

Jayne picks up a plastic T-rex from the floor, it’s stubby arms no good for a thing.

“Hey!”

Jayne puts it down where it supposed to be, before he pisses Mal off. Jayne isn’t sure he can stomach this; nobody’s been here since.

Mal looks at him, shakes his head. “It was quick.” A mercy when Reavers are involved. “Hand me the lazar saw, hold it still.”

Wash’s arms were useless now - can’t use them to fly, make love to Zoe or play with his dinosaurs. Jayne resists touching them, he touches stuff to know it’s there, it’s not.

====

I've decided to set my self a Joss 'verse drabble challenge I'm going to write a 100 drabble about a 100 different characters for Joss' 3 shows, only 96 more to go.
I can relax a little now, I've just finished writing the 9th Chapter for my BtVS fic. Now I'm going to try and sleep.

I thought it be good doing it from Jayne's perspective. I think it worked. Sorry for making you cry, pick a Joss verse character that I've not already done a drabble for and I'll write it tomorrow.

no that was beautiful... thanks for writing it...
Can I read it on the Jayne drabble episode of Strangely Literal?

*thinks* character... Puppet Angel! :)

Sure you can read it and I'll see what drabble I can come up with for Puppet Angel. It's likely to be much lower on the anguish scale than the Jayne one, unless Puppet Angel broods... which actually might be funny.

I think it's hard not to write Puppet Angel and not laugh...

My fragile ego is repaired... for the moment. I'm writing a Doyle drabble and have gone from thinking I had no clue what to write to thinking I might have my best idea for a drabble yet.

Sorry about your heart breaking - pick a character from anyone of Joss' shows and I'll write a drabble bout them. (Okay you're probably going to pick Giles but lets pretend I don't know that.) :-)

Thank you. Did you want to pick a Firefly character for a future drabble?

Sure! Can it be anyone? How about Badger (too few fics about everyone's favorite crime lord). If you'd rather a main character, then how about Zoe?

Yeah, I can write those :-). I've got lots of drabbles requests but I'll get to them as soon as possible.

Here from buffyversetop5
What sn interesting moment to choose. I never thought about how Wash would have to be removed from his chair.

Re: Here from buffyversetop5
Thank you. I wanted to look at how Wash's death affected one of the characters, and I decided to look at it from Jayne's point of view - which made the drabble take on a gross physicality.

Oh boy, that was great. Very moving, and not at all typical Jayne stuff.

I'm glad you don't think it's like a lot of other Jayne stories. Thanks.
